We met fall quarter of freshmen year at UCSB. I don’t believe in love at first sight, but this was pretty close. We got married two weeks after graduation and found jobs in Santa Barbara. I am a project manager and Aaron works in material sourcing. I love books, travel, nature and adventure.
Our blog title comes from an early travel adventure. We were on a bike tour to Neuschwanstein Castle in Southern Germany, and it was pouring rain. We were still excited to ride our bikes, but we were concerned the tour would be rained out. Our tour guide in a friendly, South-African accent asked us, “Are we made of sugar? No! We are not made of sugar!”

We now say this to each other whenever it rains, but also whenever we face a challenge. It makes us laugh and reminds us that we are fully capable of overcoming obstacles. Travel and life may sometimes be frustrating and difficult, but we won’t melt.
